Student of The Month

Bernice L

Every month we love to feature the story of one of our students and their successes, and this month is no different! This month, Lesya was telling us all about her student Bernice and how hard she has been working in class. Bernice is 10 years old and is very responsible and enthusiastic.

We asked Bernice a few questions about herself, and this is what she told us:

What instruments do you play? Piano and Violin

How long have you been taking lessons for? Piano for 3 years, Violin for 6 months

What is your favourite song to play? Sonatina in F Major

What is your favourite food? Sushi

What is your favourite thing you’ve learned in class recently? Playing songs and enjoying the music

What is your favourite colour? Green

We asked Lesya to tell us about Bernice and she hand wrote us an essay! Here’s what she told us:

“Bernice became my student in October 2017. This very devoted and serious student successfully completed level 3 and 4 in one year from 2017-2018. Bernice is such an incredibly talented student that already in 2018 she successfully completed level 5 with a remarkable grade of 88% for piano, while in theory she attained an impressive mark of 89.5%.This upcoming May and June she will be taking her exams for level 6 in both piano and theory. I am extremely prooud as her teacher to reveal that Bernice has already memorized the required songs for the level 6 exams. This exceedingly talented student has a remarkable memory for music and great at feeling the dynamics and rhythms for her music. In addition to those accomplishments, Bernice finds time for duets, casual music, performances and fun music. Her love for music and the arts encouraged Bernice to pursue the violin lessons as well as dance lessons. As her teacher, I am genuinely impressed by her energy to pursue music in all its beauty and glamour. I am absolutely certain that Bernice will attain tremendous success in her enjoyment of music, and am extremely pleased to be a contributing element in her journey.”

Congratulations on everything Bernice, and we wish you the best of luck on your upcoming exams!
