For those of you that may not know, Brook was a part of the Mississauga Fine Arts Academy team for a few months at the end of 2017. During his time here, he was training to become an autism service dog, where his job would be to help children with autism overcome emotional obsticles, improve the child’s safety, and provide companionship and comfort every day. Brook completed his training with Jenna (the office manager) in early November 2017 and have since been receiving updates on how he’s doing at his new job.
Here’s a message from Brook letting everyone know how he’s doing!
“Hey guys! I miss being able to hear all of your wonderful music at the school, but I’m doing something very important at my new forever home. Since you’ve seen me last, I have graduated from the Companion Dog program with Autism Dog Services Canada and placed with my forever friend. He is a 23 year old man with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and we are always together! I hope that you all have a safe and fun Summer with your families, because I know I will! Keep on practicing!”
Please remember that if you ever see a service dog in vest do not pet them because they’re working very hard for their owner.

Our Summer Recital was a blast!
Parents, teachers, and students alike all had a great time at our Summer Recital this year! We love having an opportunity to hear the different pieces that the students have been working so diligently on, and having a chance to see the different instruments at their finest. From students that have been learning their instruments for just a little while to students that have been here for a very long time, everyone has done their best and we are very proud of each and every one of you.
Thank you to everyone for your hard work leading into the recital and we hope to hear everyone in our Winter Recital!
Welcome New Students
